Summary

This project focuses on assessing the impact of chronic cannabis use on cardiovascular health, specifically endothelial function. The study investigates three key aspects: (1) the impairment of vascular function by different methods of cannabis consumption (smoking, secondhand smoke, vaporizing, edibles), (2) elevation of cardiovascular risk biomarkers through chronic exposure, and (3) functional changes in endothelial cells exposed to sera from cannabis users. Preliminary findings suggest that smoking cannabis significantly impairs endothelial function, similar to tobacco, with some noted effects from edible THC use as well.
