Summary
This project examines whether state policies requiring point-of-sale warnings about cannabis use during pregnancy actually influence cannabis use, beliefs about safety, stigma, and attitudes toward pregnant people who use cannabis. The research finds little evidence that warning-sign policies reduce cannabis use during pregnancy and suggests they may instead contribute to stigma and support for punitive responses, raising questions about the effectiveness and unintended consequences of these public-health warnings.
