University of California, Los Angeles

Year: 2025

Amount: $2,000,000

Status: In progress

Primary Investigator: Garg

Summary

This project seeks to access new and rare cannabinoids using synthesis and biosynthesis, evaluate their pharmacological properties and potential side effects, and understand how they bind to the cannabinoid CBI and CB2 receptors. The results of these studies will provide fundamental insight into the important structural features that lead to desirable biological properties, with the potential to lead to the discovery of new cannabinoid-based therapeutics for societal benefit.
